We have puppies!
The first Dalghani litter since 2004 has arrived.
Read all about it.

Our original website had a
large puppy section with frequent updates when we had litters.
We did not breed since Pete died in 2004 but there may be
puppies at Dalghani again this summer.
So we revived our "Puppies" section, take a look. |

2006 TTCA National Specialty
- San Francisco, California
I was finally able to attend an American TT Specialty, held
in San Francisco this year. What a fabulous event, I thoroughly
enjoyed every minute. I met old friends and some that I only
knew from emails. Besides I made many new acquaintances.
Unfortunately I had problems with my leg again. It was terribly
swollen and I spent many hours in my room elevating and icing
it. As if that was not enough, the last afternoon I accidentally
got kicked in the sore leg and spent a long time stopping
the bleeding. The wound is just an inch from the one I received
in Germany in December and may be just as slow healing.
But those things are minor and only put a small damper on
the otherwise exciting event. I would certainly love to attend
another TTCA Specialty in the future.

All events took place in the Crowne Plaza
Hotel close to the Airport.
Wednesday was taken up by a very interesting all day
Breeders' Seminar. We received lots of material to study.
Thursday's judging consisted of Futurity (judge-Brenda
Brown) and Sweepstakes (judge-Angela Brueggemann).
In the evening after a buffet supper the Auction brought
in lots of money for next year's Specialty. I missed
out on some nice things but managed to come home with
5 treasures.
On Friday the regular classes were judged by Margareta
Sundqvist. She seemed to enjoy her assignment and was
very thorough. The high quality of entries often made
decisions and placings a challenge. |

The last exciting event took place Friday evening,
the Top 20 Invitational followed by a delicious dinner.
Eli had qualified for the Top 20 and received an invitation.
Unfortunately Candace, his new co-owner from WA, could
not bring him although she would have loved to. So I
brought his huge rosette (28") and the 2006 certificates
home for him.
Eli also had his picture and a short write-up in the
Invitational booklet , which is a nice keepsake.
Nine qualifiers took part in the Invitational, all
received much deserved applause. The winner was Ch Players
Prodigy. |

Our Italian boy "Nike",
Ch. Dalghani's Ma Ni Kar Lo, had a successful day at the Carru
show in Northern Italy.
Nike was shown by Fabrizio and a very excited Lisa sent the
pictures taken by the club (breed) and Silvia Saponi (group).
The breed judge was Ken Sinclair (Araki) and ?Nethercott,
also from the UK, judged the group.

I had a wonderful day at Toodie
Connor's annual Easter egg hunt at her Emerald Glen Farm in
Monroe, WA.
Not only was the weather absolutely gorgeous, but I also finally
got to meet Annette and Candace who had brought Eli for our
first reunion since 2004.
Dogs and owners had come from near and far and everyone had
a great time. After the TTs had found and devoured the brightly
coloured eggs (some ate more than others!), the humans enjoyed
a scrumptious pot-luck, some fine wines and other refreshments.
It was nice to meet old friends and make new acquaintances.
A big 'thank you' goes out to the hostess who had spared no
effort to make all of us feel welcome.

I have received lots of nice pictures since
Eli moved in with Candace and her family. Eli's single page
had to be expanded to 3 pages to avoid a lot of scrolling.
Eli's newest photos with Candace and Max, the Papillon, can
be seen on Eli's page 3. |

Eli has found a new friend. He moved in with
Candace, her family and the resident Papillons shortly after
the Westminster Shows.
Candace is an accomplished Junior Handler who is planning
to show Eli in Breed, Juniors and maybe even Obedience.
She is spending many hours grooming and training and hopes
to have Eli ready for shows by March. Eli is of course enjoying
all the extra attention.
Good luck, Candace, I look forward to seeing Eli in the ring.

Harley had to have his leg shaved and is wearing
a cone quite often.
I took a picture, take a look at it on Harley's
page. |

Happy New Year to all those visiting
my site.
I hope 2006 brings better health for me and finally puppies
again from Willa and Harley later on in the Spring.
My leg still gets cleaned and bandaged regularly but is finally
healing. Who would have thought that the freak little accident
would have such long-lasting consequences. |
December 24, 2005 |
I am back home after a wonderful 3-week trip
to Germany, the second one for this year. I visited relatives
and friends and took in many Christmas Markets. Of course
a trip to Germany is never complete without a dog show. This
time Angela Brueggemann invited me to her home for a weekend
and we attended the Amsterdam shows with two of her dogs.
Angela and Henry's hospitality was out of this world and Henry
even put his First Aid kit to good use.
Anke Peine also invited me to a show but I had already made
plans to spend that weekend in what used to be East Germany
with my friends Mario and Bianka who have Shikar from us.
We visited the historic city of Dresden which attracts huge
crowds since the Frauenkirche has been restored. It took well
over an hour to get parking spot in an out of the way residential
area! And the Striezelmarkt was so packed that you could hardly
see what the vendors had to offer. It was fun to spend time
with their dogs and meet their friends who also have Shikar
puppies. And again I was spoiled with wonderful meals, a treat
for someone who does not cook.
Left: Jo, Angela and Daniela with Holly, Dari and Raven in
Amsterdam. Right: In Halle at Mario and Bianka's with one
of the Shikar babies.
Unfortunately I got hurt stepping into a train and had to
be treated at the hospital near Angela's home and later at
the doctor's in Dortmund. It did not slow me down though and
I still did everything I had planned to do but by the time
I got home my leg was badly infected and I still get it cleaned
and re-bandaged every second day. The arm is better but the
leg will take time. I have appointments for bandaging well
into the new year. I hope to be healthy again one of these
days. |
